I think red or some sort of brown would work best for a brown house. looking back it was the only real option. Depending on the sun it can look dark to purple to almost white. I can't say that I like it but I definitely don't hate it. Now when you have a brown house that limits your choices a bunch. One rule, always use a darker color on the roof versus the walls of the house otherwise it will look upside down.
